speech buddy adapting to your audience

I really enjoyed the videos this week. Not only because it’s very useful but it helps you feel more comfortable around your surroundings. Making a connecting with your audience will help you overcome your fear because you connect by being on the same page with everyone. So in the video, Matthew did a great job informing the audience with a lot of information and backup to get to his point which was the responsibilities of drinking. Also, he didn’t stay in one spot and just read notes off his paper. He used the overhead to possibly get the audience's attention with a visual so it’s not so boring listening to the guy.

  1. Hey,
I really enjoyed the videos as well because it felt like we have all gone through it whether it is one of our friends or ourselves. I agree that the visuals were a great idea so the audience would be able to see the facts and see the actual numbers instead of hearing them. I wonder if we are able to use pictures for our speech. At least from the videos we watched we are able to get some idea of what to do and how to keep the audience listening. It sounds like we do think a like but anyone from Benicia is “wamp” as so you said….

  2. hey there!
haha.I agree with you on the whole thing with Matthew and using his visual aid! I really think that him doing that made the speech a whole lot better because that takes the focus off of him for a second and on to the overhead. I think that if someone keeps talking and talking it just gets a tad boring. People can get real interested in something that has affected them or someone they know, of something that is very common which occurs everyday. In addition, I also liked how he gave the statistics on drinking, it felt like he was connecting with everyone, afterall, they are college students just like us. :)
