persuasion

so i work for the HP pavilion here in San jose. i am part of the marketing team where i have to go out and pretty much advertise for any events that are going on at the HP pavilion. mostly what i have to do is go to stores and persuade them into letting me hang a poster on their window. i know it sounds really easy but its really not. i have to first introduce myself so i dont look like an idiot looking like im selling something and then tell them what this is all about. so what i have to do is pretty much sell my idea that by letting me hang this poster up, the store is helping themselves and the HP pavilion bring in more customers. for example, sharks! almost everyone in san jose are sharks fan and when they see a poster of "the sharks territory" they are happy.

  1. That seems like a fun job and I understand what you mean by your job not being easy. In any situation businesses are often reluctant to post things or advertise for things. A while back I was trying to find sponsorships from businesses for an event. And this was not easy. I walked into business after business being shut down and turned away. It is hard introducing yourself to a complete stranger and trying to persuade people to do something so I do understand where you are coming from. Your job seems very cool though and can help you very much if you are pursuing business or any other major. Keep on with the good work.
