most helpful

there were a lot of concepts in this class that helped me prepare for speeches in the near future. one concept that was very helpful has to be the outline. building up an outline not only helps you get organized but helps you expand your options. what i mean is that by creating an outline, you discover more than what you expect. you keep breaking your topic down and by the end of it, you are left with so many things to talk about making your speech more effective. another thing i thought that was very useful was attention getter. not really thought to add that into a speech. by watching all those speech buddy videos, i definitely agree that the attention getter works well. getting your audience's attention as your first impression really helps them relate to your topic instead of just starting your speech off with random facts. before i took this class, i usually just wing it. i dont practice or write helpful words on notecards to help me with my speech. now that i have done three speeches where i prepared for them, i think i will take in all of these tips for my future speeches and have no problem with them.
