interactive videos

I learned a lot by watching all of the interactive videos. A lot of advice was given and planning on using them for my next speech of course. To deliver a good speech I learned you need to use humor, meaningful words, concise, voice and the 5 aspects of physical delivery. Using humor is always good during a speech but the video said to be careful when using humor and not to over do it. Meaningful words to get the audience more involved are very helpful as well. So your voice needs to have a good volume, pitch, pace and variety to deliver a solid speech. As shown in the video, the volume really needs to be at a good level for the audience to connect with you. If you’re dull and quiet, then the audience can’t really connect with you. The pace needs to be at a steady pace, not quick because the audience can mishear your speech. The 5 aspects of physical delivery are eye contact, facial expressions, gestures and body motion. All of these aspects are very important when giving your speech and I learned that I really need to work on all of these. I learned a lot from these videos and I will use all of these tips on my next speech.

  1. Hey.
I have to agree that you have to watch out not to use too much humor during your speech. Just to let you know, your blog kind of sounds like the videos. Haha. But I have to agree with you that all these points will be helpful in making our last speech the best. I hope to see that you use all of these advices in your next speech. I will also try and use all of these tips in my next speech. I think connecting with the audience is one of the most important tip to use during your speech so you can make your audience feel apart of something.

  2. I also learned a lot from these speech buddy videos. I think that in these videos the most important thing was the pitch, pace, and volume. The pitch is important because you want to make sure you as the speaker sound excited and educated on your topic because if you are not, the audience won't be interested to your speech. I have also noticed that a lot of people lack volume when giving their speeches. This makes it difficult for the audience to hear you and they may become uninterested. The pace you speak at is also important because you don't want to speak too slow or too fast because the audience may not understand you or they may just lose interest. These are three things that I always focus on while giving my speeches and I think that it is something that everyone should focus on.
